JARON “BOOTS” ENNIS AND MANNY FOLLY SEEK ‘VICTORY’ IN PHILADELPHIA DECEMBER 16TH

PHILADELPHIA – November 23, 2016 – After two sensational performances, both resulting in stoppage wins at Victory Boxing Promotions’ inaugural Philadelphia event earlier this month, standout prospects Jaron “Boots” Ennis (7-0, 6KO) and Manny Folly (8-0, 6KO) return Friday, December 16th at Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia.

Ennis wowed fans at 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia, looking sharp in his victory over fellow welterweight Chris Alexander (4-3, 3KO), who opted not to come out of his corner for the fifth round.  A powerful knock-down in the fourth round set the stage for Alexander’s early retirement from the bout.  A four-time National Champion, Ennis has drawn praise from media and boxing fans for his poise and accuracy in the ring.

The Ennis family is a staple of the Philadelphia boxing scene.  Jaron, who is trained by his father, former professional boxer Derrick “Bozy” Ennis, is the youngest of three Ennis brothers who embarked on professional boxing careers.  His brothers, Derek “Pooh” Ennis and Farah Ennis, amassed a combined record of 46-7-1, and set the bar high for younger brother Boots, providing Philly boxing fans with memorable fight-of-the-year action during their years in the ring.

Ennis faces crafty Louisiana fighter Marcus Beckford (3-3-3, 1KO) on December 16th.  Southpaw Beckford has proven a difficult foe, and, most notably, has wins over previously undefeated fighters Josh Joseph and Edward Williams.

Folly, who faced experienced Hungarian fighter Tibor Nadori (9-7-1, 4KO), made quick work of his opponent, knocking him down twice en route to a first round stoppage. The super bantamweight talent splits his time between being a professional fighter, and being one of “Philadelphia’s Finest,” a community-minded Police Officer, who works to build bridges between the force and the people of Philadelphia.  Folly will face an as yet-to-be-determined opponent.

The two busy Victory Boxing prospects round out a card headlined by Luis Lebron (6-0-1, 3KO) versus Raul Lopez (10-2-1, 5KO), and promoted by Hard Hitting Boxing Promotions.  Tickets are priced at $100, 70 and 45, and can be purchased by visiting www.victoryboxingpromotions.com.  Doors to the Event Center at Sugarhouse Casino open at 6:00 p.m. on fight night, and first bell is at 7:00.
